Apple apologizes for snooping on Siri users, promises consent moving forward
Apple today announced a new shift in company policy that prioritizes user privacy — at least with regards to Siri audio recordings. Now the company promises only in-house employees will listen to the recordings it has of you, and only if you consent. Like every company with a voice assistant, Apple was called out for saving recordings and allowing workers to listen to them. Cybersecurity vendor that protects firms from data breaches hit by data breach

Google will discontinue Google Hire by 2020 — just 2 years after launch
Another Google service bites the dust, and this time it’s Google Hire. The company said it’ll shut down the job tracking system by next year. Hire helped HR departments keep track of and communicate with candidates. This tool was a product in development at Bebop, a startup Google acquired for $380 million in 2015. Its founder and CEO, Diane Greene, helped Google build this product. She later joined the Alphabet board in early this year, and left the seat in June.
